Nowadays, we no longer have to worry that if we did not have the opportunity to straighten our teeth in childhood, we will have to give up on this possibility for the rest of our lives. There is a specific orthodontic procedure for every stage of life, which ensures that treatments are effective and long-lasting, and produce spectacular results.
Discover the opportunities we can offer you!
Dr. Edina Csamangó
orthodontist
When we think of orthodontics, aesthetic problems are the first thing that comes to mind, but orthodontics is actually about the successful treatment of much more complex problems. Orthodontics not only results in a beautiful, regular, aesthetic smile, but also healthy chewing organs, which can help you avoid the development of dental problems with more serious consequences later on. Learn how orthodontics contributes to the long-term health of your teeth and prevents the development of jaw joint problems.
Modern orthodontic procedures today offer numerous advantages:
Childhood is the ideal time to start orthodontic treatment. During this stage of life, the best results can be achieved in the shortest time and with the least expense. During the period of tooth replacement, it is therefore worth taking your child to see a patient orthodontist for a consultation and, if necessary, starting orthodontic treatment.
Regular teeth can be guaranteed in a relatively short period of time, even before adulthood, which can provide many advantages not only in terms of a long life, but also in terms of health and financial well-being for the child. For this very reason, it is commendable when parents—often despite their children’s resistance—decide to take a long-term preventive approach to their children’s teeth with patience and care.
Irregular teeth also pose a threat to dental health at a young age. Cleaning crowded teeth is difficult, so they quickly become prone to decay. Tartar also builds up more quickly, which can lead to gum disease. In addition, the chewing force that regularly affects the teeth does not act on the teeth from the ideal direction, resulting in increased stress on the tissues that support the teeth.
Although it is best to start treatment during childhood, there are countless reasons why the right moment may come later, or the decision may be made later. Either way, orthodontic treatment during adolescence is not too late, and in fact, huge changes can be achieved in a shorter period of time. At this age, young people are not always able to compare short-term aesthetic “disadvantages” with long-term benefits, so they easily postpone the decision. Parents can help in such cases, but the decision can be made somewhat easier by the fact that there are now several orthodontic solutions that make elements that seem “embarrassing” or “uncomfortable” barely visible or even invisible.
Thanks to modern orthodontic procedures developed specifically for adult bone structure, spectacular and lasting results can now be achieved with orthodontic treatment. Adult orthodontic treatment is performed with fixed braces. The treatment usually lasts 1-2 years, so a lot of patience and perseverance is required to achieve the ideal result. Orthodontic treatment in adulthood has considerable aesthetic and preventive health benefits, which are now easily accessible to you.
With changes in orthodontic technology, orthodontic options have also changed significantly. Today, there are several procedures available that make braces barely visible or completely invisible, thus eliminating a very compelling reason, the aesthetic reason, which was a barrier for many people in deciding to undergo treatment.
It is never too late. As an adult, orthodontic treatment offers lifelong benefits, as the process, which takes a few years, helps prevent countless dental diseases for decades, which is not only a health issue but also a financial one.

We adjust your dentures in 6 steps at Újbuda Dental
During the consultation, a special teleradiograph will be taken of you, which will provide a precise picture of the condition of your teeth and the extent of correction required.
Photos will be taken of you from every angle, which will help us create the ideal facial harmony and prepare your smile design.
After the photo shoot, a study impression of your teeth will be made, which is necessary for designing the orthodontic appliance.
The second step in the orthodontic process is to design your new and improved smile using special visualization software. This state-of-the-art digital tool significantly reduces your risk, as you will see the final result even before the orthodontic process begins. Using a photo of you and a database containing thousands of tooth types, we will work together to find the ideal and natural orthodontic solution for you.
As the third step in the orthodontic process, our orthodontist will plan the ideal orthodontic treatment for you based on the X-rays, photos, smile design, physical examination, and impression results.
The treatment process is outlined in a treatment plan and price quote, which provides you with detailed information about the recommended treatment method and orthodontic appliance.
If you fully agree with your dentist’s recommendation, the fourth step of the process is to fit your personalized orthodontic appliance at a pre-arranged appointment. The fitting is preceded by dental hygiene treatment to ensure that the orthodontic appliance is placed in a clean and bacteria-free environment.
The fitted orthodontic appliance gradually exerts its effect, which must be continuously monitored by your treating physician to ensure that the adjustment is proceeding correctly. We check this on a monthly basis. At this time, your treating physician not only performs a check-up, but also fine-tunes the appliance to achieve the desired effect.
Once the orthodontic treatment has been completed, your dentist will remove the braces and check the condition of your teeth. This process is completely painless. This is followed by a dental hygiene treatment to restore your teeth to their natural shine. The results achieved are stabilized with retainers and plastic splints worn at night.
All you have to do is enjoy the admiring glances you receive from your friends, acquaintances, and relatives thanks to your new, regular smile.
Újbuda Dental has long been using Straumann dental technology procedures, which guarantee Swiss quality, whether for dental implants or orthodontics.
Our clinic uses AngelAligner® braces, which can be customized specifically to the needs of our patients. AngelAligner is currently the most advanced braces technology developed by doctors, with three key features: it is discreet, fast, and comfortable.
AngelAligner braces are removable, allowing our patients to eat, drink, and care for their teeth as usual. They can be worn or removed at will during everyday activities without risk of irritation or damage.
AngelAligner braces are invisible, so our patients do not have to worry that braces will spoil their appearance or smile, even if only temporarily, or cause aesthetic problems.
AngelAligner represents advanced personalized technology that can adequately treat a wide variety of dental cases. The devices provide a very comfortable fit, so not only are they unnoticeable to others, but patients often forget they are wearing them, which can be considered a "guarantee of comfort."
With AngelAligner®, a wide range of smiles can be corrected.

If your teeth are too close together and are positioned abnormally, for example, overlapping, turning in different directions, or twisted. This is one of the most common dental problems and is also one of the most noticeable deformities. It greatly contributes to the deterioration of dental health. Crowded teeth are more difficult to keep clean and can have a negative effect on biting and chewing, which can lead to much more serious oral health problems.

When there are gaps between two or more adjacent teeth. In such cases, there is a greater risk of displacement or fracture, and food debris can get stuck in the gaps, which can lead to tooth and gum decay.

When the upper front teeth overlap the lower front teeth excessively. This deformity impairs the efficiency of biting and chewing, which can lead to damage to the teeth and jaw.

When the upper teeth protrude too far forward in relation to the lower front teeth. This makes biting and chewing difficult, which can lead to tooth breakage and bone loss.

When biting, the upper teeth are positioned behind the lower teeth. This can occur with one or more teeth, anywhere in the mouth. In this case, the chewing surfaces of the teeth do not meet properly, so the biting and chewing forces are not applied to the correct surfaces and at the correct angles. Common consequences include gum recession, broken teeth, and uneven tooth wear.

When the teeth do not close completely because only the back teeth touch, but the front teeth do not. In this case, a gap is visible between them when smiling. An open bite can make it difficult to bite into food and can put irregular pressure on the jaw joint and individual teeth, which can lead to gum recession, bone loss, and tooth wear.

When the center of the upper front teeth does not align with the center of the lower front teeth. This misalignment may seem like a cosmetic problem at first, but it is often accompanied by other occlusal problems. In such cases, the teeth do not meet properly, which leads to the formation of stress points in unwanted places or makes it difficult to clean the teeth.

When the edges of the upper front teeth collide with the edges of the lower front teeth. The deformation puts a lot of stress on the most vulnerable parts of the teeth. The upper edges of the incisors are particularly susceptible to such damage and can quickly become worn and/or chipped.

I spent my residency years at the Facial and Jaw Orthopedics Department of St. Roch’s Hospital, working alongside Chief Physician Dr. János Horváth. I obtained my orthodontic certification in 2007. I have participated in numerous courses and international conferences.
In 2007, I was a speaker at the National Orthodontic Conference. To this day, I am a member of the Hungarian Orthodontic Society and the Orthodontic Self-Education Circle. I owe my success to the fact that I view problems holistically and plan their treatment accordingly. I always prepare precise, accurate treatment plans, putting the rules of the profession first. This is why I achieve stable and beautiful long-term results with my patients.
In 2020, I graduated summa cum laude from the Faculty of Dentistry at Semmelweis University, and was then accepted into the university’s orthodontics residency program. In 2023, I passed my professional exam with excellent results.
During my residency, I also worked in outpatient care and general dental treatment (cosmetic dentistry, minor oral surgery). This wide-ranging experience allows me to examine the health of the teeth from multiple perspectives when developing a treatment plan.
Orthodontics is a rapidly evolving field, so I keep my professional knowledge up to date by regularly attending courses both in Hungary and abroad.
I place particular emphasis on providing my patients with thorough information: I want to make it as clear as possible why a particular treatment is necessary. I believe that both the patient and the treating dentist play an equal part in achieving healthy and regular teeth. My greatest joy is when, at the end of treatment, patients are satisfied with the results of our joint efforts.
