A complete dental hygiene treatment, which includes the removal of tartar from the entire set of teeth. In half an hour, our dental hygienist or dentist will use a special procedure called ultrasonic tartar removal to remove tartar and yellowish-brown discoloration from your teeth. This gentle procedure is sometimes equivalent to teeth whitening, as your teeth regain their natural color and vibrant shine.
Tartar removal begins with a thorough examination, during which your dentist will assess the current condition of your teeth and determine the extent of tartar buildup since your last treatment.
This is followed by the removal of tartar and discoloration using a special ultrasonic device called a depurator. This device gently but effectively removes deposits without causing any damage to the tooth enamel. The intense vibrating motion of the device creates air bubbles, which cause the tartar to crumble and fall off the teeth.
During this treatment, a mixture of water and a very fine dental salt specially designed for this purpose is sprayed onto the surface of your teeth at high pressure using a salt spray device. This procedure allows the salt to penetrate even hard-to-reach interdental spaces and gently remove discoloration. The remaining salt is then rinsed out of the mouth.
As a final step, we polish the surface of your teeth with a polishing paste, special brushes, and rubber cups. This procedure prevents plaque from re-adhering to your teeth. Polishing makes your teeth silky smooth and full of life.
